Yealink Local and Network Conferencing

You can use the conferencing feature of Netsapiens to effectively increase the max conference limit of a handset.

Yealink's conferencing feature supports two functions, Local and Network. Network conferencing allows the user to exceed the phone's participant limit. This will require the user to use a domain's conference bridge.

Local Conference

Local Conference doesn't require a domain's conference bridge and the number of participants is limited to the type of phone used. This is the default function of a Yealink device.

Where 'X' is the account used by the phone when using this feature.

Network Conference

Once you have a dedicated or an owned conference bridge, apply the overrides below.

account.X.networkconf_type="1"
account.X.conf_uri="[Conference Room Extension]@[domain]"

To set up a network conference with multiple parties:

  1. Get party A on the phone
  2. Press 'Conference'
  3. Get party B on the phone
  4. Press 'Conference'
  5. Party A is dropped into Conference bridge
  6. Unhold Party B
  7. Press 'Conference'
  8. Get party C on the phone
  9. Press 'Conference'
  10. Party B is dropped into Conference bridge
  11. Repeat these steps as needed until all parties are in Conference bridge
  12. Finally, use Transfer softkey to transfer the last party directly to the NCS bridge
