Phonism to Streamline Configuration of Snom's M500 DECT

Provisionable Devices

  • The Builder is enabled for the D120, D717, D735, D785, and D7 Expansion Module.
  • M700 Multi-Cell DECT is provisionable as of v41.
  • Older models should be able to be provisioned, however they have not been tested nor are SNAPbuilder profiles included
  • The following Snom branded devices are known to be Vtech format: M100KLE, C620, and C520.

Provisioning URL

The following methods can be used to get the phones pointed to the Endpoints Module

  1. The Luminate Provisioning Tool can be used to provision Snom phones remotely. (See guide here).
  2. Log into the device's admin interface and navigate to Setup > Advanced > Update.
    1. Set the Setting URL field to http://SERVER_NAME/cfg/{mac}.
    2. Click Apply, then Reboot.
  3. Use DHCP option 160.
  4. Use the Snom redirection service.

Builder

Builder provisioning of Snom phones was added in v40.

Overrides

Overrides with indexes should be entered like

user_descr_contact1="off"

The Endpoints code (since v40.2) will convert this to the XML format:

<user_descr_contact idx="1" perm="rw">off</user_descr_contact>

Shared Line Appearance (SLA)

SLA is currently not available with Snom devices.

Static Call Park

Static call parking was tested successfully with Directed-Parktrieve.

Geo-Redundancy

SnomXML format uses SRV for geo-redundancy.

Transport

Transport configuration can be selected from Portal and Endpoints Admin UI.
