I'm Having Trouble Auto Provisioning an Older Yealink Phone, Why?
Old Yealink handsets have trouble provisioning on older firmware versions.
It's a known issue with older models of Yealink (such as The W52P, or T3X Phones) that the auto provisioning can be an issue. This may also be an issue on newer models if the firmware is very old.
The 2 things you need to make sure of are:
- Ensure the device is on the most recent firmware.
- Use HTTP instead of HTTPS when provisioning.
The main reason for this is that older Yealink firmware has a known issue with certain SSL certificates.
Doing both of these should fix any issues with auto provisioning older Yealink models.
