How to send SMS messages

This article details how to send SMS messages via the portal and web app.

Pre Requisites

Before you send an SMS message, you need to make sure that the number is routed somewhere. You can navigate to the Inventory, then "SMS Numbers" to configure the number.

NOTE - At this time, MMS is not supported.

Send Via the Portal

  1. Click the "Contacts" box at the bottom right of the page when logged into the portal.
  2. Click the "Start a New Conversation" button.
  3. Enter the number you want to send an SMS to, ensure you add with a 44 and not a 0, otherwise it will not work.

From here you can send messages and they will be sent as SMS. If you have multiple SMS numbers you can select which number to send as.

 

Send Via the Web App

  1. On the left hand side, click "Chat and SMS".
  2. Click "New Conversation".
  3. In the "Add Contact" box, enter the phone number you want to send a message to, then click "Add number to group". You must enter the number with a 44 and not a 0.

From here you can send messages and they will be sent as SMS. If you have multiple SMS numbers you can select which number to send as.

 

Send Via the Mobile App

  1. Along the bottom, Select "Chat and SMS".
  2. Select the "New Message" Button
  3. Enter the number you want to send a message to at the top, then select "Send SMS". You must write the number with a 44 and not a 0.
  4. Select the "Tick" button.

From here you can send messages and they will be sent as SMS. If you have multiple SMS numbers you can select which number to send as.
